With the development of new fields of use for superabsorbent polymer, there is a need for standardization and the creation of standards for quality performance, testing methods, etc. There are also increasing requests for careful attention regarding environmental considerations, Japan’s Product Liability Law, Responsible Care activities, and so forth. To deal promptly and appropriately with those social demands, the Japan Superabsorbent Polymers Industry Association (JASPIA) was established in 1995.
