What is Superabsorbent Polymer?

Superabsorbent polymer (SAP) is a polymer that absorbs from several to hundreds of times its own weight in water. It is a high molecular weight polymer featuring water absorption and retention properties while maintaining an extremely stable form.

Areas in which superabsorbent polymer excels are disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, and other hygiene products, as well as environmental greening, tree and plant raising, civil engineering and industry, medical devices, and food packaging. It continues to be developed for use in many other ways.
